New Equipment/Items from Session 6

Postby Dragon » Tue Jan 06, 2009 2:56 pm

As the new Champions of the Grand Crucible, our rewards were great! We won the following:

Consummables:
Elixir of Flying Lvl 21 (AV186)
Potion of Regeneration Lvl 19 (AV188)

Scrolls:
    Scroll of Passwall (PHB)
    Scroll of Raise Dead (PHB)

Armor:
Robe of Contingency Lvl 9 (AV49)
Summoned Scale Armor Lvl 16 (AV53)

Ring of Feather Fall (AV 158)

Ironskin Belt (decorative, with images of phases of the moon on it) Lvl 15, (PHB 253)

Quickling Boots Lvl 8 (AV 129)

Holy Symbol - Stone of Menos (as per Stone of Avandra Lvl 8, AV87)

Cloak of Walking Wounded Lvl 9 (AV151)

Wizard Enchanter stuff:
Master's Wand of Eldritch Blast Lvl 8 (AV110)
    Hellfire Wand Lvl 8 (AV109)
    Utility Staff Lvl 2 (AV107)

Weapons:
Oath Long Bow Lvl 14 (not a blade as per the listing! Insert Quarry instead of mark) (AV73)
    Lucklender Mace Lvl 20 (AV71)
Reckless double Sword Lvl 18 (AV76)
Daemonblade Longsword (crimson blade) - This is a special item, not listed in treasure books. We don't actually know much of what it does, but it is a style consistent with High Daemons, who are known for using powerful magic.

Mundane items:
    Leather Armor
    Plate Armor
Pair of gloves (nice, size L)
    Carved Amulet of Sylvana
Fur Headband (non-magic but useful in keeping sweat out of your eyes :) )
Ornate belt pouch (non-magic with skull, duck head)
    short bow
    ebony shortsword
    Feysilver longsword

Rowe would like to lay claim to the Summoned Scale armor, since he badly needs an armor upgrade and has trained to wear Scale.

He'd also like to claim the Lucklender Mace, as he can use it and fits his profile.

Remember that Rowe can transfer the magic on many items if the current form isn't suitable. For instance the Reckless double sword could be transferred to some other kind of sword so that you didn't have to spend feats to wield it. On the other hand a double sword is kinda cool...

Kestra could really use the Ring of Feather Fall and the Quickling Boots as few of the other items she can use. The Ironskin belt is cool, but someone who is in the thick of things would have a better use for it.

Or someone with a low AC or hit points.

Rowe wouldn't use it -- he almost never uses items with daily powers in order to keep that reserved should he need to be saved by the phoenix ring. However, it might save someone who needs resistance just long enough to get out of a tight spot. Because of the limited duration, I'd suggest front-line fighters wouldn't use this one much. More of a second-line fighter/artillery type person might use it more, in my opinion.

BTW, we probably shouldn't overlook the mundane items. Though we don't get much of anything if we try to sell them, they seem to be excellent quality items. That means they are good candidates for enchanting... especially since we now have the funds to do so.

Note: I wouldn't reject the Ironskin Belt as an option since her AC is average and HP lower too. Depends on how everything is divided up. The two items she's looking at ar fairly low level, so if in the balance she can get something else that would be great. If not, that's okay too.

I agree on the mundane items. Of them, the Ornate Belt Pouch, Short Bow (maybe), and the Ebony Shortsword are things Kestra would be interested in. Can Rowe turn the Belt Pouch into something cool? (A bag of holding of some kind a rogue would find very handy!). BTW, how much money does Kestra have that Rowe was holding?

Of course he can. :) But so can Suulwyn. Or you can just see if you can simply buy it. It will cost the same regardless. Given that Rowe is very busy lately and in an ill temper, Suulwyn might be your best best or you can wait until Rowe cools down.

He is holding 15,900 gp for Kestra.

True enough. I knew Suulwyn could do it, but didn't know to what extent.
